How does the human brain store, protect, and discard memories?

We are the Lewis-Peacock Lab, a cognitive neuroscience research laboratory at UT Austin that studies how the brain holds onto, protects, and discards information in working memory. Our research also seeks to understand why and how we forget things. Using novel behavioral paradigms, cutting-edge functional neuroimaging techniques, and innovative computational approaches, we explore how memory works and why it sometimes fails.
